The Creation of 'nyan-nonsense'

A couple of people have created blogs. I just read them because I have no life. And I think to myself and I realise, that I have no life more than I have no life. So I decided to create a blog.

This is quite a retarded blog but I was bored and that's what blogs are for right?

Right now, I will consider a different picture and a different name... and probably a different link, it's currently http://45629362.blogspot.com/ which is pretty random (but it does mean something, not completely random), maybe when I satisfyingly confirm a blog name.

At first I wanted to host it on Wordpress, because I'm sick of the user interface of Blogger and I've used it for... three years approximately? And they have not changed it and obviously will not anymore. But I am a person born in this century, I don't need a Tumblr and a Twitter. And plus, Wordpress doesn't have artsy skins, so business like, so I came back to using Blogger. All the skins are glossy... and I'm not very glossy.

Actually, before thinking about technically hosting the blog, I was thinking of 'really? you wanna blog? really? no the fuck one is going to read it' but you know, impulsive decisions are always impulsive. But mainly because I knew what to blog, therefore I blogged and therefore I am.

The first thing that girls do when they make a blog? Spend hours to think of a blog name. I was thinking, my blog, no ones going to read it, but obviously I want someone to read it, but obviously I don't know want to know that. So I thought that they would think it's bullshit, but bullshit didn't make me sound smart, so I thought of nonsense. To an actual fact I thought of the false communication thing at first. What is a language? It's somewhat miraculous we can exchange idea through words for me. So actually, I'm not intending to make any sense at all and none of this make sense but for some reason as one reads this it makes sense... Shut the fuck up. So I came to the blog name 'nonsense'.

After I created the blog technically (down below), I thought of typing this post up just because I wanted to type what's down below. But then typing "The Creation of 'nonsense'." Is not that great after the fact that I made a kitty icon but never referring to it. So I asked if nyan-nyan-nonsense, nonsense-nyan-nyan,nonsense-nyan, or nyan-nonsense was better. To be honest, all of those options are pretty shit, but I'm somewhat satisfied in a not very satisfying way at 'nyan-nonsense' so that's that for now, might stay might change, I dunno lol. But I do like the, what do you call it? Consonance? After my level 2 English, thanks to someone, I have moved from feeling neutral towards English to feeling anguish. I was looking at a sentence the other day and it compared two objects with a 'like', and I was thinking what it was called, after a couple of seconds I remember it was simile. Fuck Engrish.

Now I would like to proudly oh-so petty noob achievements of creating 'nyan-nonsense'.

This is the xml blogger template I stole:

And this is the end product so far:

Oh how I love sadpanda!

What I did? I had to find a picture I really liked and represented my blog. That I spent one hour-ish maybe? At first I looked through some templates, then I saw one with dark forest background and I thought to have something like that but it's too mysterious and the "girl with an expensive camera taking a black and white picture of a lawn chair" look. So no. So I thought of finding a CG/edited picture of some nice scenery and have it ambiguous, like summer and winter on either side, some crap like that, or even a flower in a snow but then that was just girly and cheesy so no. Took me a while, Deviantart, Flickr and Google images. Didn't find anything I like. This idea also originated from 'You're in my world now.' sort of thing. Then I thought, an empty room, like what's his name? Van Gogh I think? Something like that. So I found this nice image on Flickr and stole it.

After I made my decision on what picture to use, I replaced the colourful image after resizing on Adobe and uploading it onto Sadpanda and finding the corresponding place in the xml. I liked the windows (cliche symbolisation), the messy bed and crappy walls. (So cliche right?) but whatever. It might be temporary, it might stay. I dunno lol.

Then I thought that the massive picture in the middle of my screen looked bad. I hate it when people do that. When people put a massive picture or title or some crap and I have to page down on my 13" laptop in order to read the
title of the first post. That's just wrong. So I took out the black ribbon at the top by asking a totally awesome person in the skill of web design, and he told me to change the header padding to 0 I guessed it but I was too lazy to try everything out so I asked him.

So then, I changed the padding so the picture aligned to the top and had to change the background so that the black ribbon would disappear, upload onto Sadpanda and find the place for it in the xml and replace it. After I did that however, the image was still too bad. It draws too much attention. So people will come to my blog, look at the picture and think of me, this Asian chick and go, "WTF nigger?" So I cropped the image to just some window and the pillow of the bed showing and changed the background (I noobed a little bit there) but after a while, it worked!

Then the title of the blog was on the picture and the home button on the right, so I had to go to edit template to make them transparent and while I was at it, chose a font for my whole blog. However, for some unknown reason (probably over-riding styles) the blog title didn't become transparent so I had to Google it and I edited the CSS a little something like, display:invisible or something. So that fixed. Then my blog was awesome. I first thought of putting all my recent blogs as a list with 'Text' and manually entering each hyperlink (like a noob) but I used the Archive widget and it kinda works (I had to change the hyperlink hover to underline) so I just used the Archive widget instead, but I'm still not happy with it... too cramped, hard to read. But I guess it's alright as when you hover over the link, the link becomes underlined so you can just read the underlined text, not like anyone's going to read my blog anyway. I also changed the date format from 20110505 to 5 May 2011.

Then it all looked pretty nice. Happy face. But one thing, that has came across my mind a couple of times in the past when I blogged before. Is the icon on the tabs bar. It's the orange Blogger sign. I had to make three versions of kitty icon per pixel and choose which one was better with making a transparent background of course. Then I had to find out how to convert it to a ico file, and Google how to make it my icon. I tried once and failed but succeeded following someones post about how to do it on blogger, after deciding whether to have longer or shorter whiskers. It was success. Oh, and I had to Google where to upload the ico, I used 'sky drive' (not sure if Sadpanda hosts ico files...).

So, let there be light: 'nyan-nonsense' beta 1.0 was born.

I did consider using messy hand written music as my blog picture but it wasn't neutral enough.
